NHL Stadium Series + Faceoff at Falcon Stadium
Each year since 2014, the NHL has played at least one regular season game outdoors. The event is called the Stadium Series. In 2020 the NHL Stadium Series was held at Falcon Stadium. This presented a unique opportunity to showcase a once in a lifetime event at the Air Force Academy.
It was equally as special for the Air Force hockey team who played their first-ever outdoor game in program history two days later against their rival Colorado College, tabbed as Faceoff at Falcon Stadium.
Due to the magnitude of both events, we made it a point to not miss a beat in our social coverage. I held the role of strategizing, planning, and publishing all of our social content surrounding the events. From day one, we took fans on a behind the scenes journey including content of the Colorado Avalanche touring Falcon Stadium, the ice installation and stadium setup, content of Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog’s day in the life of a cadet, and coverage of both NHL teams practicing,
In concert with the Stadium Series coverage, we produced graphics and videos promoting the Faceoff at Falcon Stadium. We also held a photoshoot at the stadium with the Air Force hockey team unveiling their new uniforms that I had the opportunity to shoot.
It culminated with complete coverage of two unbelievable events: NHL Stadium Series and Faceoff at Falcon Stadium
Throughout the duration leading up to the events and the day following (Jan 21-Feb 18) we generated over 3.3M impressions, 280k engagements, 300k video views across our brand and hockey accounts.
Faceoff at Falcon Stadium was the highest attended game in program history with 7k fans.
